If I am Motivated Already Why Do I Need Subliminal Motivation?

We get 100s of questions about subliminal messaging all the time, and we jsut can't answer them all, but the other week we received something which resonated with a lot of the queries we get so decided to write a more detailed response. This question came from someone reading our Subliminal Messaging Course, I will print it in full:

If I already set goals and have a lot of drive for success then what good will subliminal messaging for motivation do me?

The part of the free course she quoted was this part:

Subliminal messaging won't work if you are lazy or want instant fixes to your problems in life without having to do any of the work yourself. However if you are already motivated for success and do everything you can to stayfocused on success then subliminal messaging will have a benefit on your life, it will give you an extra boost, and ENSURE you stay on track, and help you to reach your goal a bit faster!

This was a question I could relate to - once upon a time ago, but since I got into personal development this now seemed so foriegn, and the answer so natural:

There is always room for improvement; if you always seek improvement and personal development then you never need to worry about slipping into old habits, ormaintaning your current level of success.

Always aim to develop yourself and constantly set yourself new and higher goals. If you do this you'll find yourself with a whole toolkit of personal development products at your disposal - we use all sorts! Everything from subliminal messages - obviously :), hypnosis cds - Paul McKenna being one of my favourites, nlp techniques, not to mention the amount of "self help" reading and research we do…

...I want to constantly improve - despite feeling pretty confident most of the time, I still read books about improving confidence, I feel there is always improvement to be made. This is the message we want to put across to people and the mindset we want to promote to people and for them to approach subliminal messaging like this. We want this positivity and outgoing attitude to rub off on people. How To Be A Mind Reader

Do you want to be a mind reader? Well, lets get the disappointing part out of the way: You won't be able to hear the thoughts of others, and there is little evidence that anyone has ever had this kind of ability. Most of what passes as mind reading is a mix of nonsense and psychological tactics for creating the appearance of looking into the mind of another.

The good news is that there are ways to get a clue as to what is going on inside a person's mind. Here are several techniques you can try for yourself. I will warn you though, that these can take practice, and are not always easy.

Reading Lips

Some people move their lips when deep in thought, mouthing the words they are hearing or repeating in their minds. If you train yourself in lip reading, you can pick up on their thoughts in this way. Undoubtedly many lip-reading deaf people already do this.

It is even more common for people to move their lips to the words they're reading. Many of us do this without being aware of it. If you observe people reading books or newspapers, then, you might catch them doing this and with practice decipher the movements of their lips to know what they're reading. What they are reading is likely related to what they are thinking at that moment (no big surprise there), so if you bring it up in conversation, it might appear that you have a way into his or her mind - and you do.

Reading Eyes

Eyes can tell us a lot about what a person is thinking because they simultaneously show us what the person is feeling and what they are looking at. Follow the eyes, and pay attention to the total facial expression, and you may gain some insight into how that man or woman feels about things. Is he fascinated by the buildings around him? Is she disgusted by the dogs in the street?

There is another way to read eyes as well. Our pupils get larger when we see something we like, or even when we imagine something desirable. You can prove this to yourself by watching your eyes in a mirror as you vividly picture your favorite person or place. Your pupils will get bigger in a matter of seconds. This is useful knowledge to have if you want a window into another's mind.

For starters, if a man starts talking to you and his pupils get larger as he is looking at you, it is usually a clear sign of interest. This is also true if you see a man or woman looking at someone or something else. A pupil size-change can be due to a change in light (they get larger when it's darker and smaller when it is brighter), but if you can rule that out, watching for this is a way to see what interests people, and who they like to look at.

More than that, you can suggest an image to a person, to see what happens with his or her pupils. Be vivid in your description. Does an imagined trip to a night club elicit a quick enlarging of her pupils while your description of your favorite mountain stream does nothing? You might want to suggest a trip to the club or find a woman who likes mountains.

The Easiest Way To Be A Mind Reader

Do you have a friend who is always talking about money problems? Then you have a clue as to what he is thinking. The easiest way to be a mind reader is to be aware of the things that your friends and acquaintances are repeatedly saying. What we say comes from what we think, and what we think is usually repeated again and again.

We all advertise our thoughts on our faces, in what we read, what we do and what we say. Pay attention and you'll soon start seeing the clues.

Recognizing Your Big Rocks For Effective Time Management

We all know how hectic college life could become at a certain point in time. With all the classes, conferences, and researches, it is no wonder that some are tremendously stressed out and confused and have their priorities all mixed up.

There are students who take up a temporary job while doing college. Others have to juggle their studies with extra-curricular and civic activities. Of course, you also need to spend time with existing friends and spend time with them.

All these things are actually part and parcel of what college students have to cope with. Organizing your time so that you can successfully accomplish your college degree and still do your other responsibilities is a feat you have to master. Learning time management skills to increase your effectiveness is vital if you desire succeed as college student.


Firstly, you need to know how valuable each time of the day is and how to utilize your time well according to your activities in college. There is a well-told story in Steven Covey’s "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" which tells a profound lesson of how to use your time wisely.

The story is about a lecturer who stood in front of  a class holding a big jar, which he placed with big rocks. After filling it up with big rocks, he asked the class if it is full and most said yes.

Then, he got smaller rocks and dropped them in the big jar too, together with the bigger rocks. The smaller stones, of course fit into the jar. After which, he again asked the class whether the jar is already full. Still, most in the class said yes. Other students cautiously said it appears full.

After their answered was given, the professor produced a bag of sand and emptied it into the jar, too. The sand, of course filled out all the tinier spaces between the big and small rocks. After emptying the whole bag of sand into the jar, he again asks the class whether the jar is already full. The class,rather uncertainly, said that it is full.

However, the man was not satisfied, he took out a glass of water and emptied the water into the jar, which really did seeped up into the sand and ranks and eventually filled up the jar.

After this, the lecturer asks the class what the moral of the story is. The class, thinking that they have spotted the trick, replied quite smartly that the moral of the story is that "you could always squeeze a little more in."

But, the man immediately pointed out that the real moral of the story is that “you need to get your big rocks in first, or all that other smaller 'stuff' gets in way too soon and takes up all the space."

Indeed, that is absolutely true and is really, a profound enlightenment about time management strategies for college students.

Firstly, you got to know what are your ‘big rocks’ – the things that matter to you the most. Of course, you could always squeeze in other minor activities along with your ‘big rock’ activities.

However, if you fail to identify your most important priorities and always complete them first, then you will never have the chance to finish them out. This is because those other stuff you are doing will take up most of your time and marginalize your efforts for your top priority activities.


According to Covey, these are the Quadrant 2 activities. Covey also reiterates that if you don't take time to put the most important goal in your life as the first thing in your college student activity schedule, then you will never get the chance to let your ‘big rock’ activity evolve and grow.

This kind of effective time management is also a strategy of self-management. In fact, these two concepts are the same things. College students got to establish priorities for themselves from number 1 or the most important thing they desire from life, up to the least important but significant little activity they have to do that supports their achievement of their most important goal.

After you have pin pointed your ‘big rock’ goal, then you should manage your college student activities – studies, researches, extra – curricular college activities, civic duties and socials, around your ultimate goal. Make sure that you don't end up doing everything but finish up with nothing.

Take time to think about your reasons for being in college and your reasons for involving yourself with other college student activities. Doing this exercise will help you draw up the list of priorities you need to accomplish.

Always remember Covey and his big rocks, though. When you list down your priorities in life, always determine your big rock activities.

Achieve What You Want Using Your Mind Powers

It has been said quite often that you can achieve the impossible if you put your mind to it. But what does that maxim even mean? How do you 'put your mind to it'? Sometimes just thinking too hard can give you a headache. You get creative blocks, you come up with blanks at the most crucial times, when you need to come up with a winning idea, you throw your hands up in exasperation and curse who ever had come up with the saying. But wait. What if you knew a way you can train to use your mind for specific purposes, that you can shape your mind however you want - use your mind powers to get what you want.

You have an exam around the corner. Your books are piled higher than Mount Vesuvius and about as ready to explode in your face. Stress makes your heart beat to the rhythm of funeral dirge. You start to sweat, despair sets in and you see your whole education and money spent flash before your eyes. Images of begging in the gutter drinking moonshine come to mind and suddenly your body warns you of an impending overload and system crash.

Does that sound remotely familiar? Every one of us, unless of course you are a spiritual entity who has achieved a transcendental peace within yourself, has had experiences of some sort in relation to emotional stress and breakdown. The mind shuts down and you are operating on reserve adrenaline. You can get out of this cycle and use your mind to power your desires.

Our brain releases electromagnetic waves in specific patterns and in specific frequencies and science has recognised that each wave pattern opens up a specific state for the body. Those with a superior control over their minds through meditation have the ability to go into alpha and theta states - states which are extremely good for learning and reprogramming of the sub conscious.

Our subconscious languishing within the recesses of our thoughts is the culprit here. It is simply an unthinking servant of the conscious mind that both does what it is told and reacts to situations based on a 'prerecorded' response to a particular event that happened in the past, as a self preservation instinct. Without getting too technical, there is a whole slew of information about why the subconscious does this - but all you need to know is that you have to reprogram it.

How To Cure Procrastination And Achieve Your Goals

Those who consider procrastination to be a matter of laziness do not fully understand the psychology of the problem and instead claim that a boot is the only cure for procrastination that is required. On the other hand, even those who understand that procrastination can be a manifestation of a more deeply seated problem may still consider that the perpetrator is procrastinating about finding help.

Some people who have a tendency to procrastinate may in fact be suffering from depression or even attention deficit disorder which can both be underlying causes of procrastination. While procrastination is considered a behavior disorder, by treating other diagnosed issues it may be possible to offer a cure for procrastination at the same time. It is often recommended that those people who are chronic procrastinators see a therapist or a mental health professional to determine if there are other treatable issues causing them to consistently put thing off.

Therapy can a useful process for people to change behavioral patterns such as phobias and, for example, a fear of flying. These types of upsets in a person’s psychological balance cannot always be treated with a pill, but a therapist can offer them a better understanding of why they have the particular behavior. Hiding behind a computer screen offers them self-justification for putting something off, but an addiction to the internet or computer gaming may be a sign that procrastination help is needed.

Attention deficit disorder, while frequently associated with children, has recently become a more common diagnosis for adults who cannot remained focussed on one thing for long periods. When this leads to procrastination seeking help for attention deficit disorder can also lead to a cure for the procrastination.

In most cases procrastination is displayed as an avoidance behavior during which the individual will do other tasks unrelated to the project they are ignoring. By learning and adjusting to new behaviors, as well as understanding what draws their focus away from their planned project, a cure for procrastination can be found.

Part of the process of curing procrastination is learning to set smart goals. Setting achievable goals and taking steps towards those goals can create breakthroughs in many areas of our lives.

The Power of Belief

Ready? O.K. Here we go...W Clement Stone said, "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe he will achieve."

On May 25th 1961 J F Kennedy set out a major plan for the United States scientists when he declared to a joint session of congress, ‘First, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth.'

Up until he said that walking on the moon was the stuff of science fiction with the emphasis on ‘FICTION'.

It was in 1953 that Sir Edmund Hilary and Sherpa Tensing stood at the top of the highest mountain in the world, when all said the climb was impossible becaus eof the lack of oxygen.

In May 1964 a young medical student, Dr Roger Bannister, won world renown, not for his skills in the operating theatre, but by doing something in 3 minutes 59.4 seconds that no man had done before
What did he do, he finally ran a mile in under 4 minutes! The stuff of comics and story books before he ran on a little race track in Oxford, against his old university aided by two colleagues in Chris Brasher and Chris Chataway. Even though eminant physicians had tried to prove that the human body could not withstand the demand placed on it by attempting such a feat.

Why are these events so important when you are setting goals, the individuals had an undying belief in what they wanted to achieve in spite of the number of knowledgeable advisors that surrounded them saying what they proposed could not be done.

Extra-ordinary human beings? No! Just ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things driven by the belief that it could be done.

It's no doubt the number one secret of World-Class Goal Achievers. When all other things are equal, it's the reason why one person makes millions and the other one can barely make a living. It's the power of belief.

Look at you own situation, when was the last time you set out to achieve something only to be told by your family and peer group that you would never do it. How many times have you heard the little negative voice which is inside all of us tell you that you cannot do what you wanted to set out to do?

We all have conversations with our selves, whenever we are faced with a choice. This conversation takes place between our positive and negative selves. The positive will point out all the advantages to be gained from taking a particular course of action, whereas the negative voice will look at the experiences we have had to date and point out all the times we have failed to achieve a result. The experiences may or may not directly relate to the course of action we are considering.

Napoleon Hill said that faith was the most powerful force on earth (faith is belief without proof). Christians know that the power of faith has been described as being so powerful that a tiny amount (the size of a mustard seed) could move mountains.

Belief is nothing more than what we accept as true or real. Now here's something important to understand: what we accept as true may not be true and it may not be real. But if we accept it as true or real it influences our decisions just as if it were.

Hey, slow down a bit that is a bit heavy. What I am saying here is that we have two minds, you will have heard of this before. The conscious mind and the sub-conscious mind. The conscious mind draws on everything that happens to our five senses, touch, hearing, sight, smell, taste whereas the subconscious has none of these experiences to draw on. Yet it is the subconscious mind that is the true driving force of our existence. When was the last time you had to force yourself to breathe, blink or whatever? Your subconscious mind takes over and we do things automatically.

By the same token it is also the home of your limiting beliefs - remember those conversations?

But we will look at limiting beliefs and how to conquer them elsewhere.

When I was at school it was drilled into us that THE ONLY WAY to succeed was to work hard, pass your exams to get a good job.

This is just not strictly true. Let's look at some evidence, ever heard of say Bill Gates, the richest person in the world. Bill Gates dropped out of college without a degree. So that belief is obviously false.

Before you say, ‘It was alright for him he developed Microsoft and was in the right place at the right time. Did he know that when he set off to develop Microsoft?

Who is to say that that dream you have inside your head right at this moment will not cause people in the future, if you follow your dream through, to say of you, ‘It's alright for him he developed x company'.

Listen, Dr. Maxwell Maltz, the legendary author of Psycho-Cybernetics said, "Within you right now is the power to do things you never dreamed possible.  This power becomes available to you just as soon as you can change your beliefs." As Marting Luther King Jnr said, "You do not need to see the whole staircase, take the first step in faith".

Fighting Off Negative Thoughts - How Subliminals Can Make it Much Easier

Most of us would not want to admit the sad fact of life, but negative thoughts are the main driving force behind the six billion somethings teeming the world right now. We already live in an environment of bad news, bad perceptions and an ecosystem of mistrust. We constantly exposed to the promotion of bad habits, the very proliferation of negativity in the form of bad life examples and negative, pessimistic attitudes. We are, as humans, losing sight of ourselves as we surrender and ingratiate ourselves into this zeitgeist - but I think it is time for a change. We need to break out of our flawed, negative thought processes - it is time to reset yourself. Fight off negative thoughts; learn how subliminals can make it much easier.

Our subconscious is the villain that runs amuck within our lives. The negative vibes in the world are absorbed into our cerebrum faster than a sponge in the sea and it builds what weakly passes for character nowadays. How have we evolved from a race of intellectually superior hunters into a predominantly obese and unmotivated society? Why do you think cigarette companies are laughing to the bank despite the economic recession plaguing the world today? This is because that no tragedy can turn around addiction and addiction is wired into our nature - so much so that we view things as cool and as fad. This is subliminal technology at work - when a company that essentially sells a roll of leaves peppered with more toxic chemicals than in a nuclear waste plant - and we think it is cool; it's subliminal persuasion at work. It is time to fight fire with fire. Your mind is programmed for an outlook that is holding you back. How many times have you made the resolution to quit but end up claiming you need just a bit of time more to do that thing you always wanted. What are we afraid of? Fear - it is the one thing that hinders us from progressing onward, because we fear change, we fear outgrowing the mundane, we fear leaving our comfort zones. Have you ever heard of positive thoughts attracting good fortune? Or noticed that most happy people are optimists? Wouldn’t it be nice if we could learn to control our thoughts? If we could gain control of our mind and subconscious desires? However, re-programming your mind requires a lot of effort at both the conscious and the subconscious levels of your brain. The following approaches might be of help:

Telling yourself that you deserve the best constantly will help bring about a shift in your perception. The logic is basic - if for example you are told repeatedly that you can't dance you will start to believe it, and eventually you will avoid the dance floor and feel self conscious. If you keep telling yourself that you do deserve the bst then slowly but surely you will start to believe it until it actually becomes your realty.

Consciously diverting your mind-

Every time you catch your mind sneaking in dark thoughts, make a conscious effort to divert your attention to a positive thought. Just as anything that you do repeatedly becomes a habit, with time thinking positive will also become a habit.

Efforts at the Subconscious level:

Clinical Hypnosis-

Clinical hypnosis is a therapy through which a trained practitioner can delve into your subconscious and reprogram your mind. This is most beneficial to remove deep seeded negative thoughts, or even when your life is really suffering due to your constant negative thinking.

Subliminal messages-

This is a do-it-yourself approach. Subliminal messages have the power to influence your subconscious - there are even postive thinking subliminal cds. The most commonly used method of transmitting subliminal messages - for self help purposes - is subliminal cds. In such Cds subliminal messages are usually hidden behind music, but they can be played in reverse and several other ways - anything so that your mind can con consciously perceive the mesages. These messages are usually played past the level of our human hearing - i.e. above 20,000 Hz. People who believe in the power of subliminal cds claim that listening to them repeatedly can reprogram your mind and make it easier for you to control your thoughts.

The key to keeping a positive mindset no matter what is to align your subconscious mind with your conscious thoughts - so that they are both working hard to reach the same goal, and not holding each other back.
